The Universe is a beer can. Its crushable!
Anil Damodaran

The universe is expanding constantly at this very moment of time and well, i think its going to do so for a million years from now too.. But, eventually a time will come when life ceases to exist and all information is useless. I think the world's going to come to an end just like it began; without any life forms absolutely, or was there any?. That question was like whether the chicken or the egg came first, so, just let go of it, you are bound to lose your mental balance pondering about that! Eventually, the number of stars born will be outnumbered by the number of them that will go on to become black holes.

Hmm..

Some of these black holes would grow so large that it would suck in other black holes many light years away from it, this process would go on until the black hole would attain a leviathan of a size to stop the expansion of the universe and reduce its growth to a stationary level. Obviously, at this stage anything that has the label 'matter' would be drawn into the nearest black hole. Finally, the universe would start contracting into a single point, i.e. towards the black hole. The proposed black hole would attain a size unimaginable if expressed numerically. Once the universe starts contracting into itself, slowly yet inevitably, the Line of Control, i.e. the maximum point which it had reached during expansion, a void formation begins as the universe encapsulates into infinity. The void contains no matter, space or time. It would spell the end.

Diagramatic representation of the above ad hoc hypothesis.
The ellipse indicates the maximum extent to which the universe will expand.
The white spots indicate the black holes. The grey lines indicate the gravitational pull.

The final stage. Exit light.
